Summary:
Two positions are open for full time technicians in the Yu Lab at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard. The candidates will assist in research on pathogenesis and viral persistence during HIV-1 infection. Knowledge gained from these studies will help guide the design of more effective vaccines and treatments against various infectious pathogens, including HIV and Influenza.
Job Duties:
Under the direction of the PI and research staff, the candidates are expected to independently carry out daily activities of the laboratory.
- Perform assays utilizing standard techniques (cloning, DNA, and RNA extraction & analysis, antibody staining, quantitative PCR)
- Cell/tissue processing andmaintenance
- Independently perform routine and non-routine experiments which are moderate tocomplex
- Ensure quality control of equipment, reagents, and cellularcomponents
- Participate in on-going quality control/assuranceprograms
- Ordering and inventory of laboratory supplies and reagent/samplelogs.

- 0 - 2 yearsexperience
- Good organizational skills and excellent attention todetails
- Must be willing to learn andgrow
- Excellent documentationskills
- Ability to perform as a teammember
- Must have good interpersonalskills
