Role Summary

To be responsible for running all Club events, including matchdays, Club awards, corporate events and other major events the Club hold.
To manage the Club’s Being Memorable on Matchday strategic pillar with the aim of creating an engaging, exciting and memorable experience for all of our supporters by building on from previous seasons where we have delivered exciting matchday themes, emotive and thought provoking branding and interactive entertainment. Building on all of this from Season 2016/17 to make fans come back to Goodison Park by increasing intensity and excitement through demonstrating an increase in our ratings both internally and externally for fan engagement on a matchday .

Key Responsibilities

Matchday and Applicable External Events
  • Key responsibility in the delivering of the Being Memorable pillar reporting in to the pillar lead to deliver inspirational and engaging events. Work closely with other pillar leads as and when required.
  • Use the post-match match attendee survey to ensure supporters rate the matchday experience not less than ‘8 out of 10’ as an average across the season (up from 7.3 in 2015/16). Within the same survey, the in-stadium atmosphere will receive an average rating in excess of 75% (up from 68% in 2015/16).
  • Improve the cleanliness, signage, friendliness and access to help and information ratings during the season. Ensure the average rating of the final six games of the 2016/17 season exceeds the average rating for the first six games.
  • Recruit not less than 10 pubs and 15 shops willing to display branding, promotional material and merchandise. To present ‘large scale’ Everton artwork on a minimum of five, new sites and fifty smaller ‘pieces’ across the Blue Mile.
  • Increase the number of fans attending the Players’ Parade, FanZone and Matchday Hub by 10%, to an average of 6,000 fans in the FanZone and 350 fans in the Matchday Hub.
  • Launch ‘Share it with a friend’and ‘Bring a friend or relative’ campaigns and relocate 500 fans to allow them to sit with friends or family and secure 200 first time visitors per game.
  • Launch a season-long campaign, using the hashtag #EFCmatchday, to encourage fans to share memorable moments on social media, delivering a minimum of 20,000 direct supporter interactions.
  • Measured through a quarterly survey of all repeat ticket purchasers, prove that each of the pledges plays a part in increasing repeat ticket sales during the 2016/17 campaign.
  • Liaise with the Marketing team to develop innovative and inspirational advertising campaigns for events where required
  • Liaise with the Marketing Data team to research demographics of event attendance and develop targeted event strategies.
  • Make use of new media platforms to advertise events and communicate with potential attendees
  • Draft and manage contractual and service level agreements with venues, suppliers, guest speakers etc.
  • Develop attendee feedback surveys and produce detailed analysis of the success of events.
  • Develop action lists based on feedback from events to resolve queries or complaints, and ensure a high-level of service excellence at all future events.
  • Manage and maintain financial and outcome trackers, in order to produce monthly reports for the Head of Fan Based Services
  • Work closely with the fan services team ie Head of Fan Based Services, Supporter Liaison Officer and Disability Access Officer to increase our scores for fan engagement for both the Premier League fan survey and Visit Football observations.
  • Work closely with the Clubs Neighbourhood manager to ensure all planned Matchday activity demonstrates the Club as being a Good neighbour and that opportunities for any such Events to increase neighbourhood participation is considered
  • Work closely with the Clubs Disability Access Office to ensure all Matchday activities are inclusive for all of our supporters and where necessary appropriate adjustments made to allow this.

  • External Events
  • To manage and oversee the development, management and delivery of all external events.
  • Develop fully researched and budgeted proposals for each event, including information such as target audience, venues, catering, entertainment, guest speakers, projected attendance figures, financial objectives and pricing strategies, sponsorship strategies and resource plans.
  • Liaise with the Marketing Services team to develop innovative and inspirational advertising campaigns for events where required.
  • Liaise with the Marketing Data team to research demographics of event attendance and develop targeted event strategies.
  • Make use of new media platforms to advertise events and communicate with potential attendees.
  • Liaise with the Public Relations team to increase the profile of events.
  • Liaise with external organisations to arrange sponsorship for events where required.
  • Act as project manager for each event, taking full ownership of delivery of the event, from inception to evaluation, liaising with relevant internal departments and delegating tasks where necessary.
  • Recruit and manage casual workers and volunteers to support events.
  • Develop guest lists and seating plans for events.
  • Draft and manage contractual and service level agreements with venues, suppliers, guest speakers etc.
  • Develop attendee feedback surveys and produce detailed analysis of the success of events.
  • Develop action lists based on feedback from events to resolve queries or complaints, and ensure a high-level of service excellence at all future events.
  • Manage and maintain financial and outcome trackers, in order to produce monthly reports
  • Liaising with the insight team to identify fan behaviour to promote increase in revenue and attendance at related Events.

  • Internal Events
  • Working alongside the Human Resources team and Events Committee, develop a range of engaging and inspiring social events, activities and fundraisers throughout the season.
  • Take a lead role in developing the Events Committee, such as organising meetings, delegating tasks, producing action plans, evaluating feedback and managing the budget.
  • Develop internal communications plans for events which cater for staff based over 3 different
  • locations.

  • Ensure that all events comply with our Health and Safety policies, undertake risk assessments and ensure that regulations are observed during every event.

  • Established events manager with proven experience in delivering a variety of high-profile events.
  • Passionate about football, and engaging fans with the Club
  • Experience of managing budgets and controlling costs.
  • Experience of managing people and delegating tasks as required.
  • A good understanding of what it takes to grow business.
  • Experienced administrator, adept at seeing the importance of all tasks, however menial.

  • Has previous Events management within a sporting or event background
