Del Norte County 4-H
All Star Requirements
The All Star is the highest 4-H Youth Development honor attainable at the county level. All Stars serve as county ambassadors for the 4-H program and give support to the 4-H clubs and county events. It is a working honor.
An All Star needs to exhibit the following qualities:
- Demonstrate leadership ability, citizenship concern, and maturity of judgement.
 - Present specific ideas on ways to give guidance and leadership to some area of 4-H Youth Development.
 - Make a commitment to expand the social and cultural boundaries of the County 4-H Youth Development Program.
 - Cooperate with fellow All Stars for the growth and development of 4-H within the county.
 - Recognize the opportunities and responsibilities of being selected a 4-H All Star and serve as an excellent role model for younger members.
 - Function as a public relations agent for 4-H.
 
All Stars are encouraged to attend the WHY Conference, the State Leadership Conference and other leadership and citizenship conferences.
Qualifications
To apply as an All Star, a 4-H member must:
- Be fourteen by date of application
 - Be going into or in high school
 - Be currently enrolled in good standing in 4-H
 - Have earned a gold star
 - Have at least a 2.0 grade point average
 
Application Process
- Complete the All Star resume
 - Write a 4-H essay, 300 to 500 words in length; typed, double-spaced, which strongly related your leadership skills and potential, concerns for the community and others around you, and your ability to make good, sound judgments. You may include 4-H, educational, employment, community and social group experiences.
 - Read and sign the All Star contract.
 - Submit two references on the All Star Reference Form, one of which must be a 4-H leader not related to the applicant.
 - The recommendations and decision of the Del Norte All Star Selection Committee are final.
