Having developed a love for the sciences and for helping others it was natural for him to pursue a career in medicine. He was chosen to be a teaching assistant for the gross anatomy course given to the physical therapy students at the Health Science Center. This experience and his early exposure to orthopedic surgery in the operating room solidified his desire to become an Orthopedic Surgeon.

Dr. Simoncic completed his orthopedic residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC. It was here where he received extensive training in total joint replacement surgery training with one of the world’s most respected joint replacement surgeons. Dr. Simoncic also received extensive training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery from physicians at the top of their field including those caring for professional teams such as the NY Jets, NY Rangers, and NY Islanders. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a full-time staff member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System.
