WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT ON TIPPECANOE MIDDLE SCHOOL

The mission of Tippecanoe Middle School is to provide educational experiences that are a continuation of the intermediate school and a transition to the high school focusing on academic, social, emotional, and physical growth in a nurturing environment that willcontribute to success as responsible students and citizens.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:

As we move into the final quarter of the 2014-2015 school year, there are some important reminders that I want to share with you:

1.It is the final quarter grades that determine athletic eligibility for the fall sports seasons. Students must pass five classes with a 1.5 GPA in order to be eligible to participate. Please remind your students not to “coast” this final quarter if they plan on participating in the fall.

2.Ohio’s End of Year Assessments are scheduled for Monday, April 27th through Thursday, May 7th. It is important that ALL students be in attendance during testing because we have a very small window to complete make-ups.

3.All school fees and obligations must be addressed before students may participate in Field Day on the last day of school along with many other end-of-year activities. Please contact the main office if you have any questions regarding fees.

ARTS FEST AND SCIENCE NIGHT

If you missed our Arts Fest and Science Night you missed a great opportunity to see a great deal of student talents. Thanks to all of our parents who attended and the staff for their hard work to get this put together. It is amazing how much talent our students have.

EMERGENCY DRILLS In Ohio, schools are required to conduct a fire drill each month, a tornado drill each month from March through June, and three Emergency drills throughout the year. This past week we conducted an Emergency drill where we practiced having an intruder in the building. We also conducted our tornado drill and then moved to a Rapid Release Drill where we practice getting students out of the building as quickly as possible. Our staff and students did a wonderful job in each drill.

Beginning Monday, April 13thstudents will not be able to charge on their lunch accounts. All outstanding schools fees, lunch charges, and library fees must be paid before the end of the school year for students to be able to participate in end of year activities.
