FROM PRESS SECRETARY NEIL MORRELL

With the commencement of the 2011/12 fast approaching and the publication of our fixtures as has been mentioned elsewhere I will be attempting to produce for you a weekly round-up of life here in our league and am certainly looking forward to the months ahead and sharing with you events that are happening at your respective clubs.

I often find that when it comes to pre-season friendly fixtures the task of casting my editorial wand extremely difficult to piece together a reflection of how things are shaping up within membership of our member clubs especially as matches very often are arranged very hastily so please forgive me if my comments in this area appear vague.

From time to time though I do get out and about pre season and this was illustrated back on 16th July when I popped over to Stag Meadow Windsor for their very first game which not surprisingly was against local rivals Slough Town.

Following the sad demise of Windsor & Eton Football Club earlier on in the year for reasons well documented sheer hard work and determination produced a new club in the shape of Windsor F.C. who were elected into our league following our recent AGM and they take their place in the Premier Division, 327 spectators were treated to a very entertaining match which saw the home side taking the honours thanks to a 2-1 victory, Ryan O'Toole claiming the honour of scoring the first ever goal, they doubled their lead just about on the hour mark through Joe Chandiram, Slough pulled a goal back through Danny Burnell and pushed hard for an equaliser which did not happen and a very satisfactory victory was secured.

On this same day another of our new boys Guernsey were preparing life with us hosting ex CCL members and Football League newcomers AFC Wimbledon and what a goal feast these two sides produced – 11 to be exact with AFC just nicking it 6-5 in front of a very enthusiastic crowd of 1060 and quite rightly so, trailing 1-3 at the interval it would have taken a brave person to predict the final outcome it must wet your appetite for the season ahead.

Let us not forget also that Spelthorne Sports and South Kilburn have also joined our league again we welcome them to our ranks.

In a case of if at first you don’t succeed Thatcham Town from The Evo Stik League finally obtained the signature of Jack Smillie from Hartley Wintney despite previously declining such a move, Jack who over a period of time has also previously played for Wycombe Wanderers, Newbury, Fleet Town and Uxbridge.

Knaphill have been active in the playing department adding the signatures of Craig Woodley from Sheerwater and ex Bolton Wanderers professional Craig Knowles to their squad, in addition to this Matt Baker, Chris Fox, Woody Cardona, Joe Turner, Mike Ford & Michael Pym have all re-signed for the new season, good to see Pym back in action as he had been sidelined with a knee injury for a long period.

Keep your news coming folks direct to me at and I will be back with you again next week.

Worcester Park FC

Worcester Park FC is currently looking for new goal keepers for our 2nd and 3rd teams.
Anyone interested, should contact Reserve Team Manager, David Perry on

Goal Scorers and Attendances

NEW CLUBS TO TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE PLEASE

All Premier and Division One clubs playing at home in 1st Team League or League Cup matches are required to advise details of scorers’ names INCLUDING INITIAL or 1ST NAME for both teams, plus the time of the goals and the match attendance to the Fixture Secretary before 12.00 noon on the Sunday following a Saturday match. Anytime the following day will do for midweek games. Ideally this should be e-mailed or faxed and a “template” form will be issued with the first weekly bulletin.

Away team officials can, of course, assist the home team by writing down the details for their own team and passing them over at the end although this does not relieve the obligation of the home club to ascertain these details.

Some clubs provide this information for their FA Cup/Vase /County Cup matches and they are welcome to do so. Any information received will usually be printed but it is not mandatory for “outside” competitions.
