This is to add emphasis to them collecting information to feed into HW. The current Information Volunteers will remain in their roles with no change.
7. / Work Programme Update:
JSD guided the Board through the Work Programme Update Report.
In addition to info specified in the report, JSD has been working closely with the Colleges. Staff have stated that access to primary mental health support through a GP is a big problem for young. This seems to be particularly apparent with self-harm. Issues have arisen when young people have felt that their own GP did not take them seriously and not addressed mental health difficulties.
TB suggested that need to be fed into the CCG.
As part of our work on Homecare with the Local Authority, SBC have sent out 380 letters to users of Homecare services offering the opportunity to participate in a telephone survey. Cut-off date for responses is 5th January 2015 and we plan to undertake this work by the end of January.
Update to be fed to the Board at next meeting.
Sexual Health Services - needStockton’s Experiences – Jane Smith from Public Health wants to do qualitative work with young people – also need to make contact with LGBT to seek evidence.
JH also highlighted a group that he is currently working with called Gay Advice Darlington, as a potential contact for sexual health intelligence, as they also do work in the Stockton on Tees area and they may be able to offer some additional information.
Letter gone out to GP practises investigating what protocols are followed when people want to register with a surgery. Current information has identified that GP practises do operate within boundaries and can only turn people away from registering with them if they are outside the identified boundary. Will investigate some practises after Christmas. / JSD
