Nature of Responsibility:

·Ensuring that all the operating Mines in the country are in compliant with the Weights and Measures Act Chapter 403 of the Laws of Zambia. This includes timely planning and monitoring that the verifications of test weights, weighbridges and other weighing instruments in the mines are done within time

·Coordinating a highly skilled work force comprising of Chemical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Metallurgists, Mining Engineers and Physicist.

·Conducting Needs Assessment projects for SMEs with a focus of promoting value addition to their products and reducing Technical barriers to trade.

·Monitoring and Evaluating of project from the Ministry of Commence , Trades and Industry that relate to the mandate of the institution as guided by Weights and Measures Act CAP 403 of the Laws of Zambia

·Coordinating and ensuring that there is timely verification of trade instruments in the Northern Region of Zambia .(i.e verification of fuel dispensers, storage tanks, weighbridges, test weights and instrument calibration)
