4 Defending Life with Love: A Concert of Hope Benefitting Mater Filius: 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5100 W. Plano Parkway, Plano 75093. In 1987, Tony Melendez sang to St. John Paul II. Now we are blessed to have Tony with us in Dallas singing to benefit Mater Filius, a Catholic apostolate created to help pregnant women who find themselves without support. Women receive housing, counseling, medical care, emotional and spiritual support at no cost to them. Tickets are $10 per person.

5 All-Night Adoration Vigil of the Two Hearts in prayer for the advancement of the culture of life at Mater Dei Parish, 2030 E. State Highway 356, Irving, 75060 (off of Loop 12 and the Irving Blvd exit). All are invited to join in helping to make reparation for sins against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary by Eucharistic Adoration every First Friday at Mater Dei. 6 Gabriel Angel Training Part 1, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd., Richardson, TX 75081. Become a Gabriel Angel and learn how to mentor a mother facing an unexpected pregnancy. In addition to learning about Project Gabriel, several representatives from the Catholic Pro-Life Committee will spotlight other ministries and explain how you might get involved at your own parish. 9 Plano 40 Days for Life Kickoff Rally, 7:00-9:00 p.m., on the public right-of-way in front of Planned Parenthood of Plano, 600 N. Central Expwy., Plano 75074. The Plano 40 Days for Life campaign will take place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from February 10 through March 20. With the vigil just three hours after the rally -- beginning at midnight -- this is the time to pray and ask for God’s blessings, asking for His mercy upon all of us and all those whom we encounter during these 40 days of prayer, vigil, and fasting. 11 The Ordination Mass for Bishop-elect Greg Kelly: 2:00 p.m., Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe in downtown Dallas. Bishop Farrell will preside as consecrator. An episcopal ordination Mass is a joyful and beautiful liturgy with numerous bishops from around the country and clergy of the diocese. The cathedral will open its doors at 12 noon for open seating. Limited parking in the cathedral garage is available at the special rate of $5 with surrounding lots a minimum of $15. Due to the anticipated large numbers who wish to attend the Ordination Mass, parish and school “watch gatherings” are encouraged as an alternative. The diocese will offer an HD livestream of this historic event suitable for watch gatherings in parishes and schools.
