Lifeguard Training Class at the West Concord Pool -2014

June 6; 9-13 (9:00 am – noon) + one additional afternoon on the 10th or 12th)

Must be at least age 15 by the end of the class.

Cost: $175 (includes CPR mask and class instruction/testing)

(if you would want to purchase a textbook – it would be $35 extra; (let us know and we will order it for you)

or you could download a copy or just use the online version (ask if you have ?’s)

Class Format:

-  1st day - swimming and diving skills ( you will need to show your swimming strokes of front crawl, breaststroke, and diving. You will have a 13 lap non-stop swimming test.) (weather permitting) (bring goggles)

-  Book work –reading, quizzes, skill tests, written tests

-  Videos of Lifeguard skills

-  CPR/Rescue Breathing and First Aid skills and tests

-  Lifeguard skills/Lifesaving techniques

(If the class is large, additional time may be scheduled)

Please know that having Lifeguard Training is a valuable skill and will be worthwhile in many ways, but it doesn’t guarantee you a job at this pool or any other for that fact. Pools are looking for highly skilled, responsible workers with good people skills and motivation.

What you need to do if you would like to be in this Lifeguard Training Class:

Look at your schedule and make sure you can devote the above time to the class.

Bring a check to Glenda Andrews (payable to the West Concord Pool) for $175

(or a down payment of $100 will be accepted with the remaining $ to be paid the first day of class) You may pay with cash or check.

Talk to Glenda Andrews again and bring your $ by May 15, 2014.
