Parks and Open Spaces

There are a number of parks, play areas and open spaces provided across the District and the responsibility for these is with the District Council or a Parish Council. How often do you cut the grass?

Different types of open space require different levels of maintenance, so the frequency with which we cut the grass varies according to the location.

In high quality amenity areas such as open spaces and gardens the grass will be cut 13 times per year.

In medium quality areas such as play areas the grass will be cut 10 times per year.

Our standards are

·  To inspect and clean our play facilities on a weekly basis for faults and routine maintenance.

·  To cut the grass every 2 weeks between March and October for public open spaces, play areas and grass verges.
