Current: Research and Special Projects assistant to Jay Kenton-Vice President of Finance and Administration (FADM), Portland State University.

Abridged list of FADM projects:

  • Development and maintenance of two secured research sites- grow.pdx.edu and pet.pdx.edu.
  • Staff to the University District Expansion Project
  • Design and formatting of campus wide electronic survey on Recycling
  • Development of the University’s Recycling and Sustainability websites
  • Presentations for Business Energy Tax Credits, the University’s Future for the Board of the Oregon University System and Sustainability, a slide show orientation for new hires of the University.
  • Staff to the Budget Priorities Committee

I also do grant funded contract work for various departments on campus. Two recent projects:

  • Design and formatting for a unit of curriculum in the Library of Congress. This was a collaboration with Micki Caskey, professor in the College of Education; it is entitled, The Civil War: Through a Child’s Eyes
  • Currently working on a Spanish Language Activities archive with professors from the Foreign Language Department. This archive will be available to all teachers on the Internet

Portland State University 2000-2001

  • Research Assistant for the Colleges of Education and Public and Urban Affairs.

Worked with professors from both areas to develop a web based curricular unit: Iroquois Confederacy and the US Constitution. This curriculum was the 2001-02 winner of the Portland State University “Scholarship of Teaching and Learning with Technology” award.

Mt. Hood Community College 1998-2000

  • Tenure track faculty responsible for Theater instruction, Design and Technical Direction and management of the Associates Degree program in Technical Theater
  • Taught technical theater sequence, theater history, lighting design, make-up, sound and scenic design
  • Designed and managed all technical aspects of three mainstage productions a year
  • Facility manager and event coordinator for the departments’ 500 and 100 seat theaters

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) 1996-1998

Technical Coordinator for Traveling Exhibits

Responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the largest Science Museum Traveling Exhibits program in the U.S. with 26 exhibits valued at over 14 million dollars

This job entailed traveling with some of the exhibits and overseeing their installation as well as project managing any refurbishment and updates that became necessary

Clackamas Community College 1990-1996:

  • Instructor, Designer and Technical Director for the Theater Arts Department
  • Taught six classes a year in basic sound, light, stage construction and execution
  • Designed and built three major productions a year
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of departmental productions, including scheduling, budgeting and coordinating the work of paid sub contractors, student crews and community volunteers
