TheDelta College Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Service and Governance Awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Dinner. We are asking that you consider nominating deserving individuals for each of these awards. Note that there are two different awards. Nominees may or may not be Delta employees and need not be AAUP members. You may nominate the same person in both categories. Previous winners may be nominated after a period of ten years has elapsed (see the AAUP website for a list of past winners

RECOGNITION AWARD FOR GOVERNANCE

The Governance Award is given for leadership or exceptional involvement in the shared governance of Delta College that benefit the faculty, staff or students of the College. Examples of governance activities include the following:
1. Protection and promotion of the rights and responsibilities of faculty, staff or students.
2. Shared governance of the College or the development of College policies.
3. Exceptional service to the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) at the local, state or national level.

RECOGNITION AWARD FOR SERVICE

An individual or group that has given service of exceptionalvalue to Delta College may be nominated for the Service Award. ("Exceptional" means above and beyond the normal requirements of one's job.) Examples of such service include the following:
1. Employee services of exceptional merit, either related to or in addition to designated responsibilities.
2. Outstanding services by faculty members, students or trustees to the Delta College community or that promote the interests of Delta College.
3. Exceptional services by community members (local, state, national and international) of a distinguished nature performed for Delta College.
