Literacy
This term we will be looking at Traditional Tales. Our focus will be on Jack and the Beanstalk. We will also be looking at the alternative story ‘I tell you the truth, Jack’s Beanstalk Stinks!’ During this term, the children will also be listening to and reading a range of traditional tales to make comparisons and identify differences. Using these stories as stimulus, we will be story sequencing, planning and writing our own versions, taking part in role play, writing posters and descriptive writing. This term, we will be looking at how to develop sentence structure to write more complex sentences. We will continue our work on using nouns, verbs and adjectives correctly. All children will have guided reading session once a week and will be heard to read 1:1 by an adult at least once a fortnight. Please continue to listen to your children read at home 5 times a week. / Numeracy
