Downloading E-Pub Books and Audio Books
What do I need to start?
- WiFi access
- Adobe ID
- OverDrive App
- Valid Library Card
If you do not have an Adobe Account follow these steps
- On your Kindle Fire, from the Web, go to
- Tap Sign in in the upper right hand corner
- Tap Don’t have an Adobe Account?
- Fill in the required fields
- Tap Create
- Tap Continue. You will see the Welcome message. You can close this Adobe window.
Follow the steps below to download an OverDrive App on your device.
- Search for the OverDrive Media Console app using your Kindle App Store
- Tap Install
- Icon for OverDrive will appear on your carousel
**Hold device horizontally for better viewing
- Open the OverDrive App on your Kindle
- Tap Settings button then Get Books (on a regular Kindle Fire) or a book with a plus sign (on a Kindle Fire HD) First time users have to add the Oshkosh Public Library on your device
- Tap on Add Library
- Search your zip code
- Tap on Oshkosh Public Library
- Tap the yellow star next to Wis. Public Library Consortium so that your device will remember the library.
- Tap the library in OverDrive App
- Sign in (upper right corner) start typing Oshkosh Public, tap library name
- Enter your library card number and Pin (last four digits of your phone)
- Browse collection for ePub book or mp3 audiobook
- Tap the Book Cover
- Scroll down (below the book cover to see the Borrow button
- Tap Borrow
- Tap Download
- Tap ePub book or mp3 audiobook
- Tap Confirm and Download
- Your title will begin downloading immediately in your OverDrive App
- Tap on book to begin reading or tap play to listen.
NOTE: Downloading audiobooks takes longer than ebooks.
Returning a book
ePub books and audiobooks can be returned early on the OverDrive App
- From your App in the list view, tap on the + plus sign next to title
- Tap on Return then Delete to return a title early or delete to remove it
