Girls’ Physical Education Guidelines
COURSE CONTENT:
1. Motor Skills & Movement Patterns in a Variety of Physical Activities
2. Movement Concepts, Principles and Strategies
3. Physical Fitness Levels that Improve Health and Performance
4. Physical Fitness Concepts, Principles and Strategies
5. Psychological & Sociological Concepts, Principles & Strategies
CLASS EXPECTATIONS:
Students are expected to come to Physical Education class prepared with appropriate attire, and are expected to put forth their best effort at all times. Cooperation and acceptance of individual differences are a requirement in order to participate in class. Unsportsmanlike conduct or disrespect toward others is never tolerated.
CONSEQUENCES: Failure to follow rules and expectations

- Removal from Activity/Written Assignment
- Office Referral and/or Detention
UNIFORM FEES:
- Gym Shorts ($10.00) -optional
- Gym Shirt ($5.00)- optional
- **SCHOOL-ISSUED COMBINATION LOCK ($5.00)- mandatory

DRESS REQUIREMENTS:
- Active wear- shorts, sweat pants, t- shirts, sweatshirts, etc.
- Tennis shoes- no Crocs, sandals, or slip-ons will be permitted
GENERAL POLICIES:
- EXCUSED PARTICIPATION - A parent note including: date, specific reason for excuse, extent of excused activity and a signature will excuse a student for a maximum of two (2) consecutive days. In excess of two (2) days, a doctor’s note is needed. A written assignment will be provided in order to make up for missed participation in class.
- INJURIES must be reported to the teacher immediately for proper treatment.
- PE LOCKERS are each students’ responsibility to maintain with personal items.
GRADING SYSTEM:
1. PARTICIPATION- ATTITUDE- INDIVIDUAL EFFORT: 50%
• Students are expected to consistently give a complete effort in class.
• Students are expected to be in attendance daily and to participate
ith a good attitude in all classactivities.
2. SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE EVALUATION:30%
• Skill tests include observed skill acquisition, practice, refinement, and application.
• Written tests include health and fitness concepts, sport history and rules, terminology and applied knowledge.
3. PREPARED FOR CLASS: 20%
• Students are expected to be in proper P.E. attire.
• Lack of preparation will result in point deduction.
TOTAL GRADE POINTS: 100%
