1. Introduction

This document provides basic guideto help with the initial installation of theEricsson W25 and the Linksys SPA series when using the MyNetFone Service.

2. Ericsson W25 Unit Preparation

2.1 Insert the 3G SIM Card

Open the cover on top of the unit and insert the SIM card.Ensure that the SIM card is inserted in the correct position.Close the cover.

NOTE:The Ericsson W25 must be disconnected from the power point/socket or an optionally installed battery when inserting or removing the SIM card.

2.2Connect the Antenna

Connect the provided UMTS/GSM Antenna to the antenna connector and tighten.

2.3 Connect Power

Connect the cable from the enclosed power supply adapter tothe 10-28 VDC power input on the Ericsson W25.Connect the power cord to the power supply adapter and theninsert the plug into a power point.

After power up, allow approximately two minutes for W25 to start-up.

2.4LED indicators

After start-up, verify that the relevant LED indicators are “on” on the front panel. LED indicators should show a green light for Power, Mobile Network, Internet, and Wireless LAN.

3. Connecting VoIP device to the Ericsson W25

3.1 Linksys SPA2100

3.1.1Connect one end of an RJ-11 phone cable to the SPA2100 Phone1 port. Connect the other end to your analogue telephone or fax machine.

3.1.2 Connect one end of Ethernet network cable to the INTERNET portof the SPA2100.Connect the other end tothe EricssonW25 LAN1 port.

3.1.3 Connect the enclosed power adapter to the SPA2100 power port, and then plug the power adapter into a power point. The Status LED on the rear panel will light up as soon as the SPA2100 powers on.

3.1.4 After start-up, verify the Phone1 LED on the rear panel is “on”. The green light indicates that the line is ready to use. If you registered for two lines, then the Phone1 and Phone2 LEDs should have the green lights on.

3.1.5 Now you can make calls using your MyNetFone service.

4. Choosing a suitable location and wall mounting for the Ericsson W25

The Ericsson W25 has primarily been designed to be wall mounted.

Always select an indoor location, preferably close to a window orthe ceiling, where the best conditions for both themobile network and wireless LAN aregenerally provided.

For best results, place the Ericsson W25 away from microwaveovens and equipment with radio transmitters (E.g. security/alarmsystems) as they cause signal interference.

4.1 Wall Mounting

The Ericsson W25 is mounted to the wall using two screws and thetwo mounting slots on the unit.

Insert and secure two screws to the wall at a distance of 110 mm.Leave a space of approximately 3 mm between the surface and thebottom of the screw heads. Slip the Ericsson W25 slots over thescrew heads and pull down until the unit is seated securely.

5. Hardware Description

5.1 Connectors

The connectors on the Ericsson W25 are positioned as shown in theillustration below. A description of each connector is provided in thetable below (from left to right):

Label / Description
10-28 VDC / Power input to connect the provided power supply adapter.
Reset / Button used to restore the Ericsson W25 configuration to factory default settings. The following procedure resets all configurable values back to factory default, including the Ericsson W25 login user name and password.
1. Press the Reset button with the tip of a pen. The Power LED should start blinking.
2. Wait until the Power LED stops blinking as this indicates that the reset is finished.
USB / USB connectors, for connecting USB device(s) to the Ericsson W25 (for file and printer sharing).
Phone / Telephone connector, for connecting a telephone to the Ericsson W25. A maximum of three telephones can be connected to avoid telephone function interruptions.
Phone/Fax / Telephone/Fax connector, to connect a fax to the Ericsson W25.
LAN 1 - 4 / Ethernet LAN connectors (RJ45), for connecting client PCs or Ethernet devices to the Ericsson W25.

5.2 Indicators

The front panel of the Ericsson W25 has six (6) status indicators. Ageneral description of each indicator is provided in the table below(from top to bottom):

The Ethernet LAN connectors (LAN1- LAN4) have two built-in indicators each.

The left indicator shows the speed of data traffic between the Ericsson W25and the connected client. If the speed is 100 Mbps, the indicator will have the green light “on”.When the indicator is unlit, the speed is 10 Mbps.

The right indicator will have the green light “on” when a LAN connection is established, and this light will flash to show data traffic activity.
