New Postgraduate Maritime Education Institute in Dubai
International leading institutions in maritime education, research and innovation are planning to establish a “Dubai International Institute of Maritime Science” for postgraduate studies.
The involved universities of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU), representatives from the maritime industry and governmental administrations along with representatives of DubaiMaritimeCity[1], are fostering this exciting opportunity by offering high level and innovative postgraduate degrees (Master and PhD) in various maritime disciplines as well as programs for further qualifications to the international maritime community.
Recognising that
-Globalization has been progressing rapidly in the international shipping arena,
-Passing on maritime skills and knowledge to the following generations needs to be achieved on a global scale,
-The shipping industry is a service industry, in which human resources are the critical element,
and having identified several needs for international postgraduate courses in the maritime sciences,this new maritime education, research and innovation institute will be established in Dubai Maritime City (DMC).DMC is committed to addressing the needs and requirements of the global maritime community,by offering world-class infrastructure, services, and regulations, as well as creating an efficient, specialized environment for the networking and integration of maritime industry players from all over the world.
