Relevant postgraduate programmes

The DClinPsych programme has a yearly intake of 13 students/trainee clinical psychologists and there are 13 staff, some part-time, who contribute to the academic teaching, supervision and placement monitoring roles, and there is extensive involvement of local clinicians. Research supervision is provided by a number of these staff with substantial contributions by Psychology staff more widely and by local NHS clinical psychologists with research interests. The Academic, Clinical and Research elements are overseen by Directors in each of these domains.

Further details of the DClinPsych Programme are available on the web-site for the Clearing House for postgraduate courses in Clinical Psychology Training:

A recent development is the establishment of the MSc in the Foundations of Clinical Psychology which serves as a stepping stone to completion of a PhD in Psychology and will supplement students’ experience for application to professional training offered by Doctoral Programmes in Clinical Psychology.

The Cognitive Therapy Programmes comprise two postgraduate Diploma-level programmes for Anxiety & Depression and for Severe Mental Health Problems, and two Certificate-level programmes for Long-Term Health Conditions and for Mental Health Problems.

 PG Dip Cognitive Therapy for Anxiety and Depression

 PG Dip Cognitive Therapy for Severe Mental Health Problems

 PG Cert Cognitive Therapy for Long Term Health Conditions

 PG Cert Cognitive Therapy for Mental Health Problems
