Job description - Group facilitators

Job Title: ABC Project Group Facilitator

Responsible to:ABC Project Leader/DDAS Line Manager

Hours: 21 hours per week

Salary: £18,459 pa (pro rata)

Main Purpose:

  • To undertake group work with clients (perpetrators) who attend ABC Project.
  • Prioritise the safety of those at risk from domestic violence and abuse.
  • Participate in the range of multi-agency forums that address the safety of those at risk from domestic violence and abuse.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Client work

  • To conduct violence prevention work in a way that shows an understanding of domestic violence and abuse and its effects on partners, ex-partners and children.
  • To co-deliver a structured violence prevention programme for clients who have been abusive to an (ex)partner.
  • To conduct appointment based assessments with potential clients to assess their suitability for the ABC violence prevention project.
  • Prepare and submit reports to social care and other agencies as necessary.
  • To conduct meetings with clients and other professionals as necessary.
  • To liaise with other agencies as appropriate, attending core group and case conferences as required.
  • To participate in case management meetings with other ABC Project staff about the progress of the intervention work and to ensure that the safety of those at risk from domestic violence and abuse remains at the forefront of ABC Project work.
  • To implement actions agreed in case management discussions.
  • To assist in presentations or workshops about the work of DDAS/Crossroads Derbyshire, and to attend meetings, seminars and conferences as required.
  • To attend practice and clinical supervision.

Administration

  • To assist with collecting information needed for monitoring purposes.
  • To maintain up to date information on legal, housing and welfare issues relevant to domestic violence and abuse.
  • To assist the project co-ordinator in producing statistical and other reports on work done with the ABC Project to meet the requirements of The Big Lottery.
  • Cooperate in the ongoing evaluation of ABC Project service.
  • To maintain appropriate client records in line with ABC Project, DDAS and Crossroads Derbyshirerecording systems.

Other

  • To attend and contribute to team meetings and case reviews as required.
  • To attend line management sessions as requested and to provide information on client work, service delivery and organisational issues to the project team leader.
  • To implement decisions agreed in line management meetings.
  • To keep up to date with domestic violence issues and participate in relevant training.
  • To undertake other duties as reasonably requested.
