PROFESSIONAL CAREER HISTORY

Coordinator of Doctoral Studies & Professor of Educational Leadership (October 1, 2009 to Present). School of Education, Manhattanville College, 2900 Purchase Street, Purchase, NY 10577, 914-323-7251. Responsibilities include, serving as the program coordinator and faculty member for implementing a professional practice doctoral program in educational leadership that prepares educational leaders for schools in “changing suburbs and small cities;” helping the School of Education get the program approved by New York State Education Department; working closely with partners on implementing the program, teaching graduate classes and advising doctoral students. Also responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the doctoral program, providing professional development for full and part-time faculty, leading student recruitment and admissions activities, evaluating faculty performance, leading the Doctoral Program Faculty Group, facilitating the participation of members of the national and regional groups that guide the program, and representing the program to internal and external groups, building and maintaining strong working partnerships between the program and education leaders as well as schools and districts in the regional education community, developing informal, formal, and online communication systems and structures that will sustain the regional partnerships as well as national partnerships such as the Experts Group, overseeing program assessment and evaluation as well as the preparation and supervision of an annual budget for the program. Working closely with my fellow doctoral faculty, I have developed and implemented an EDD Executive track for ABDs (all but dissertation), making it the first such program in the USA (and perhaps in the entire world); Have taught six graduate courses (5 at doctoral level, 1 at master level).

Education and Management Consultant (January 1, 2008-September 30, 2009). Providing consultations to both education (P-16) and business clients. Major clients include Xi'an International University, Global Education Consortium in China, Lida Tech College in Shanghai, Minda Tech College in Jiangsu, Universe Optical Company in Zhenjiang.

Professor of Educational Administration (July 1, 2001 to December 31, 2007, with tenure) Dean, Bagwell College of Education & Head, Professional Teacher Education Unit. Kennesaw State University (KSU), 1000 Chastain Road, Kennesaw, GA 30144 (Dean: From July 1, 2001 to Feb. 23, 2007). Providing leadership for the Professional Teacher Education Unit (PTEU) operations in not only Bagwell College of Education (BCOE) but also five other colleges in the university with 215 administrators, faculty and staff in total. As the College's chief academic and executive officer, the Dean was responsible for instruction, research, academic programming, budgeting, teacher certification, personnel, and other aspects of College planning and operations. In addition to the four academic departments and the PTEU, the Dean also oversaw and supervised all operations of four centers and institutes, including educational technology center, undergraduate and graduate admission, advisement, and certification. The Dean was also responsible for enrollment management, alumni, fund-raising, community relations, new program development, faculty development and all the other operations within the Unit and the College. Co-taught and taught educational leadership courses.

Provides leadership for over 150 FTE faculty, professional and support staff in nine units: The Center of Teacher Preparation & Partnerships, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Technology, Elementary & Secondary Education, Multicultural Education, Literacy Education, Special Education, and the A. Harry Moore School. The Dean is the chief administrator of the College and reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. As the College's chief academic and executive officer, the Dean is responsible for instruction, research, academic programming, budgeting, teacher certification, personnel, and other aspects of College planning and operations. The Dean also functions as superintendent that oversees and supervises all educational activities at the A. Harry Moore School for students with special needs (pre-school through 12th grade).

Coordinating the Doctoral Program including development of new and revision of existing policies; facilitating the college-wide Doctoral Studies Faculty and the university-wide Doctoral Teaching Faculty's academic advising, professional development and teaching activities, chairing the Doctoral Steering and Admission Committees; planning and organizing doctoral applicants selection process; scheduling & coordinating doctoral comprehensive examinations; overseeing the budget for the Doctoral Program; directing the Educational Leadership Graduate Program which includes 3 different tracks; scheduling classes, staffing for instruction, planning and implementing academic and administrative activities from admission to graduation including recruitment, interviewing prospective graduate students & evaluating applications, assisting with registration, financial aid and retention; teaching graduate courses at both doctoral and master program levels; administering summer graduate programs, advising graduate students and supervising doctoral dissertations; hiring adjunct faculty and monitoring their teaching, supporting graduate students’ academic and academicrelated activities; conducting applied research studies; serving on various university/college committees, and providing public services including building partnership between local school leaders and the University community. Major accomplishments: We obtained Full Program Approval from Florida Department of Education, and Doctoral Program Accreditation from the SACS; received Outstanding Contributions Award in 1998.

Robin Campus Coordinator, Graduate Programs in Educational Leadership, Roosevelt University in Chicago, 430 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60605, 312-341-3500. From 1991 to 1994. Serving as a general supervisor of the Ed.D. and MA programs in Educational Leadership, planning and administering graduate students recruitment at both doctoral and master levels including admissions, registration, financial aid & retention, organizing selection process, interviewing prospective graduate students & evaluating applications, administering summer graduate programs, advising graduate students, monitoring graduate students' academic and academicrelated activities; teaching doctoral and master program courses in the area of educational administration and supervision, supervising doctoral dissertations, conducting research, coordinating the staff development among the EA&S fulltime and parttime faculty members, and providing public services. Major accomplishments: Obtained NCATE accreditation with the team in 1992; started a new ED. D. Program at Robin Campus; and received an Elizabeth Balanoff Award (Roosevelt University's version of Distinguished Professor Award), and Reward Now Certificate for outstanding service to Roosevelt University.

This is a senior administrative staff position.
