New elements will inspire, educate and motivate guests in 2013. Visitors will experience expanded feature gardens (think “Monet”), interpretive floral designs and collaborations with national and Chicago-area organizations and companies, including the American Institute of Floral Designers, Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, American Diabetes Association, area garden clubs and others.
This is gardening Chicago-style, featuring window boxes, small-space designs, raised beds, vertical gardens and inspiring ideas for colorful and interesting ways to celebrate the Midwest’s palette of plants. “The Art of Gardening” showcases the planted art of Chicago-area landscape designers, including: Advantage 1, Aquascape, Chicago Park District, Leisure Woods, Peterson Garden Project; Reflections Water, Light, Stone; ValleyCrest Landscape Companies and others.
Also new and expanded in 2013: interactive classes and presentations led by the industry’s best professionals in the all-new area of the show called the “How to Garden.” There also are more ideas for tablescapes in “An Art-Full Table,” and extensive garden- and lawn-care offerings in the always-popular “Marketplace.” Creativity abounds in the “Kids’ Activity Garden,” with programming support from the University of Illinois Extension and others.
