Lunchtime Concert in the Amphitheatre – Weather permitting, the Elgin Academy String Quartet will be performing an informal concert in the amphitheatre from 1.10pm on Friday this week (09-06-2017). Please offer your support, come and listen to a range of fantastic music and enjoy the entertainment. H. Mackay.

Orchestra Well done to those who played at the awards ceremony on Monday and Tuesday – both performances were fantastic! Orchestra will resume in August, looking forward to seeing you all there. Mrs Robertson (AR)

Vocal group Well done to everyone who sang in Monday night at the awards ceremony. Many thanks for all your support in the last few weeks. Choir will resume on Tuesday 22nd August. (AR)

Miss Oggs and Mrs Mays National Drama students for last year are asked to return their terminology booklet to Mrs May asap.

The Bookathon is Today!! – The Library today will only be for the use of pupils who have signed up for this Big Summer Reading Event – please note there will be no access to computers

For pupils who are participating in the Bookathon:

  • You do not need to register with your classes during your Bookathon periods. You will be registered in the library.
  • You must, however, attend registration. The Bookathon does not begin until period 1.
  • Please remember your money. £1.00 a period.
  • You can bring your own book or borrow from one from the library. Kindles and e-books are fine to use too.
  • Be ready for some quality time with your books.
  • There will be breaks for sharing books and some challenges and activities, which are optional and there will also be an opportunity to contribute to the building of our book fort.

Look forward to a fantastic and fun day! Reading is FUN-DAMENTAL.

Paddington – in the Library today

The film Paddington will be shown in the library after school and as part of our Big Summer Reading Event today. Watch the comic misadventures of a polite young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British, who travels to London in search of a home. The film will begin at 3.30pm, is open to all in school and you can bring their own snacks.

International Women in Engineering day – Engineering Pathway We have a fabulous offer from Diageo on 23rd June 2017, aimed at S1-3 students who have an interest in exploring potential careers in Engineering – this is for GIRLS only. The session will begin at Moray House, Elgin at 9:30am and conclude at 1pm. If you are interested in attending you must give your name to Mrs Bowley by Friday 9th June – places are allocated on a first come first served basis.

S6 Assembly There will be an S6 assembly on Thursday 7th June during registration. Students should make their way directly to the hall to be registered. (KJG)
