The Faculty PerformanceEvaluationProgressReportisintendedtoprovideanassessmentofafacultymember’saccomplishmentsoverasixmonthperiodfollowingtheAnnualReview.Assessmentwillconsidertheaccomplishmentsandprogresstowardachievingthecurrentyear’sacademicplansandmeasureableoutcomes,aswellasimportantissuesthathavemayhavearisenduringthesixmonthperiodfollowingtheAnnualReview.Inabilitytoachievethedesiredoutcomeswithoutadequatealternativeaccomplishmentsmayrequireachangeindirection,timeallotment,orsalaryforafacultymember.

Thedistributionofeffortmaydifferamongfacultymembers,i.e.,somememberswithagreater%forresearch,somewithmoreteaching,somewithmoreadministrativeservice,etc.Thegoaloftheschoolaswholeisthat75%ofthecostofresearch-­‐includingsalaries,benefits,directcosts,andoverhead–shouldbefundedexternally,buttheamountofexternalresearchfundingmaydifferamongfacultymembers.Theremustbeanadequaterevenuestreamtocovereachperformanceexpectation,totaling100%ofsalary.FacultybasesalaryguidelinesarelinkedtotheexpectationsdescribedinthisFPE.
