FADE IN ON—

EXT/INT. O’HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

MARCUS CAGE and his sister, JASMINE CAGE, are walking through the crowds of people as JASMINE pulls along a rolling suitcase to go with her blue flight attendant attire. MARCUS looks disillusioned as JASMINE walks.

JASMINE

I want to thank you for bringing me to the airport, Marcus.

MARCUS

It’s not a problem, sis.

JASMINE and MARCUS reach a station, where another flight attendant, MARY FIELDING, is standing with a pilot, BRETT HANKINS.

MARY

Jasmine, you almost missed us. We’re about to board.

JASMINE

Sorry, Mary. Things have been hectic since I’ve been home. Had a little excitement recently and haven’t really gotten my bearings yet.

BRETT

Takeoff is a matter of seconds. See you on board.

BRETT turns and walks down the tunnel towards the plane as JASMINE signs in on a log.

INTERCOM

Pan-American Flight 23 to Los Angeles departs in 2 minutes. Last call...

MARY

That’s us. We’d better hurry.

JASMINE hugs MARCUS, who frowns after the announcement.

JASMINE

Thanks again for giving me a lift, bro. See you when I get back.

JASMINE and MARY hurry off into the tunnel as MARCUS seems to be thinking about something.

FLASH – EPISODE 1.4 – MARCUS’S DREAM SEQUENCE

MARCUS CAGE and HAWK TONKA are facing a hologram-like TV screen in front of a burning plane.

TRACEY

(on the invisible screen)

Killed in the blast of Flight 23 from Chicago to Los Angeles were the entire Pan-American flight crew and passenger list of the plane. Included on the list were pilots Arthur Jenkins, Jamie Packard, and Brett Hankins. Included on the flight crew were Jasmine Cage, Mary Fielding...

INT. O’HARE AIPRPORT

MARCUS turns and sees JASMINE and MARY about to board the plane. His eyes widen.

MARCUS

Jasmine! No! Don’t get on the plane!

MARCUS takes off down the tunnel as a SECURITY GUARD gos after him.

SECURITY GUARD

Hey! You can’t go back there without a ticket!

JASMINE and MARY turn at the door as MARCUS comes charging down the tunnel with the SECURITY GUARD in pursuit.

MARCUS

You have to stay here! The plane is gonna blow up!

MARY

What is he talking about?

MARCUS

Don’t get on that plane!

JASMINE and MARY look at him strangely as MARY turns impatiently.

MARY

You coming?

JASMINE looks back at MARCUS and sighs. THE SECURITY GUARD drags MARCUS back towards the entrance of the tunnel.

MARCUS

If you’ve never listened to me before, listen to me now!

JASMINE

I’m sorry. I think I have to see what’s going on. Can you cover me?

MARY

Sure thing, but you owe me one.

MARY gets onto the plane and pulls the door shut as JASMINE turns and walks back towards the entrance.

INT. AIRPORT

MARCUS shows his badge to the SECURITY GUARD, who holds up his hands and backs away.

JASMINE comes walking out of the tunnel, a look of disbelief on her face as she walks over to MARCUS.

JASMINE

What’s going on, Marcus?

MARCUS

That plane is going to explode! They can’t let it take off!

JASMINE

Marcus, that plane is leaving. There’s nothing we can do to stop it. Besides that, I just lost cross-country pay.

MARCUS

I just saved your life, Jasmine.

As they sit there, the plane is seen going down the runway, its engine roaring. MARCUS runs over to the window, pressing his hands against the glass.

MARCUS

No! Stop the plane!

JASMINE shakes her head in disbelief as they watch the plane take off into the air. JASMINE walks over to MARCUS, standing next to him.

JASMINE

You’ve lost it, Marcus.

Suddenly, a loud whistling sound is heard. As the plane gains altitude, the whistling sound gets louder. Suddenly, a fiery bundle of fire comes shooting out of the sky. It slams into the plane with power, causing the plane to explode before their eyes. JASMINE’S eyes widen and covers her eyes from the light as MARCUS lowers his head. Glass shatters all around the windows, causing everyone to shield themselves from it.

JASMINE

Oh, my God!

He plane is engulfed in fire before it falls from the sky, crashing onto the runway in a ball of flame. JASMINE covers her mouth with her hands, sadness etched on her face. She turns to MARCUS, who looks at her with a knowing sadness.

JASMINE

How did you know?

MARCUS

Like a famous man once said, I had a dream.

As he says this, more stars come falling from the sky, smashing into the building. MARCUS grabs JASMINE and leads her over to the desk as the ground shakes. MARCUS and JASMINE grip each other in fear a stars shoot down from above.

INT. PRISONER TRANSFER VEHICLE

LONNIE ELAMB and KATE AUSTIN look into the sky and see the exploding plane above the city. They look amazed and emotionally drained. However, as LONNIE slows the vehicle, a fiery falling star careens into the street, crashing into the car in front of them, causing it to explode.

LONNIE slams on the brakes as fire fills their windshield. The vehicle spins sideways to avoid the crash in front of them.

EXT. BACK OF THE VEHICLE

LINDSEY WALLACE, ROLAND STARK, JAMES LOCKE, and EMILY HODGES look up as the ground shakes and cars begin crashing off to the side of the road. The whole earth begins to move, almost like an earthquake.

LINDSEY

Anyone mind filling me on what’s going on out there?!

LONNIE

All hell is breaking loose!

EMILY looks out at the city through tears as stars are seen falling from the sky, some into the river, others into the streets.

EMILY

Why is this happening?!

INT. HOSPITAL

KYLE CREED glances out the window as his wife AUDREY rests on the bed with her bandages over her eyes. KYLE sees stars hitting cars in the streets, causing then to explode. He shakes his head in disbelief as people outside begin to scream.

KYLE

This is crazy.

INT. CAR

DILLON MURPHY is driving as FR. GABE MURPHY and GARRY JACOBS are the passengers. They watch as they descend upon the city of Chicago in the distance, the red moon hanging over the city. The stars can be seen falling into the city, crashing into trees and catching them on fire.

Some meteors hit the lake, being snuffed out as they fall while others hit some buildings, breaking glass and catching some on fire.

GARRY

It’s chaos out here.

CAPTION:

October 30, 1995

EXT/INT. ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH

LONNIE ELAMB is seen alone, kneeling at the altar in front of the church, deep in prayer as he looks distressed.

LONNIE

(v/o)

Another year, another Halloween coming. For most, October 31st signals a night of trickery, costumes, parties, and candy. For me, it’s a wakeup call, when the evil of the earth has a window to wreak their havoc and achieve their mischievous goals. Over the years, I’ve lost my sister and my father to this night of darkness, as the fates have rained down a judgment of death upon those I’ve loved. This Halloween, I feel an evil rising, a sinister force clawing its way the surface. As the end of summer approaches, the end of man may follow. On the night of Samhain in the year of 1995, pure evil will rear its head and there may be nothing I can do to stop it.

LONNIE raises his head and looks up at a stained-glass drawing of Jesus in the stained-glass windows. Footsteps are heard behind LONNIE as he remains still, fixated on the statue in front of him.

LINDSEY WALLACE kneels down next to LONNIE, looking at him with a gloomy expression. LIGHTNING EFFECT.

LINDSEY

We can’t stay in this church forever, Lonnie. At some point, we have to go back out there and face these guys down.

LONNIE

We can’t stop them, Lindsey. They’re too strong.

LINDSEY

So, we’re just giving up? No fight at all? That’s not the Lonnie I know. The Lonnie I know takes no shit from no one. He’s in their face, telling it like it is without prejudice.

LONNIE

The Lonnie you know had never faced The Four Horsemen and one of the most powerful demons ever known. These...things are unstoppable.

LINDSEY

Wrong. Believe what you want to believe, but if they were unstoppable, we all would’ve been taken out a long time ago.

LONNIE

Lindsey, I’ve seen a lot of bad things in the world. I’ve fought them and I’ve defeated them. There had to come a day when I would lose, when something so powerful would come along that I had no chance. I can’t win this time.

Tears form in LINDSEY’S eyes and she reaches out and grabs LONNIE’S face gently, running her hands through his hair.

LINDSEY

You know, when we were growing up together back in Haddonfield, as much as I hated you, I couldn’t deny there was something special about you. You had this devilish sparkle in your eyes when you would do something deceitful, but you also had this innocence and tenderness in there when you dealt with your family and friends. To Tommy and I, you were an antagonist, but to people like Sami, Richie, and Keith, you were a leader. They believed in you and they would have followed you to the ends of the earth. It took a while, but over the past year especially, I’ve seen that quality they saw way back then. You’re a little rough around the edges, but you’ve got a heart of gold. They believed in you then. I believe in you now. Have faith and we will make it through this.

LONNIE half-smiles and grabs LINDSEY’S hands.

LONNIE

Thank you. Out of everyone from back home, I never thought you’d be the only friend I still had from high school.

LINDSEY

You? You’re the last friend I thought I’d have period. You used to bully me, pull my hair, and make me cry.

LONNIE

That’s because you were a big cry baby.

LINDSEY

Yeah, but we saw who was crying when I broke your nose and sent you home to your daddy, little bitch.

LONNIE

Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

LINDSEY

Nope, just the boys and made them cry.

LONNIE

Yeah, kissing you would make me cry, too.

LINDSEY

Somehow, Lonnie, I don’t believe that. I seem to remember you being pretty persistant back in those days trying to get into my pants.

LONNIE

It was only to see if the rumors were true and you actually had a penis.

LINDSEY

Nice try, but I’m not buying it. You wanted me back then and I denied you.

LONNIE

Was it just because of Tommy?

LINDSEY

No, but Tommy was a big factor. Tommy and I loved each other.

LONNIE

Funny how things work out sometimes.

LINDSEY

I don’t know. I think sometimes things have a way of working themselves out like they’re supposed to...

LONNIE nods. He reaches over and pulls LINDSEY into a hug. They hold each other tightly for a few brief moments.

LONNIE

I should go. Marcus was supposed to stop by the hospital and pick up Chloe so that we could finally hack into Morgan Enterprises’s secret files. She’s been nursing an infection.

LINDSEY

You think the key lies there?

LONNIE

I’d think so, considering all the people they killed trying to shut you up. I have to pick up Kate at the morgue and take her over to see her sister-in-law, so I’ll see what Marcus and Chloe pull out of the file.

LINDSEY

Let me know what you find. We went through hell to get that thing. If it doesn’t pay off, I think I’ll throw myself from the State Street Bridge.

LONNIE

Don’t be rash. I’m sure you can find a taller bridge somewhere.

LINDSEY

(slaps him on the arm)

Get out of here.

LONNIE smirks as he backs out of the church and into the pouring rain.

EXT. CITY MORGUE – NIGHT

The rain is pouring down as lightning lights up the sky. An ambulance comes pulling onto the loading docks as lightning lights up the sky. Standing at the loading dock is DR. KATE AUSTIN, her arms crossed in front of her as the ambulance pulls to a stop.

The front doors of the ambulance open as GARRY JACOBS and his new driving partner, DIEGO MONTOYA, a young Latino man in his mid-twenties.

DIEGO

Okay, so why are these people exhuming this body again?

GARRY

There’s some question as to the identity of the deceased.

DIEGO

How can you screw up a dead guy’s ID, man? With all the technology these days...fingerprints, dental records, DNA. Hell, man. I watched a doc one time ID a guy without a head by a scar on his ass. He didn’t have a freaking head, man, and they got him right by looking at his hairy ass! Why couldn’t they get this guy right, man?
