The Carnival Committee would like to bring to your attention that it is your responsibility to organise your own Risk Assessment for your float, i.e. possibility of falling/tripping off float, slip, trip or fall on float etc. and your measures to ensure this does not happen, You must ensure that all articles on the bed of the lorry are securely attached, i.e. chairs, tables, etc. If some of your participants are going to walk at the side of the lorries, we recommend that they are at least 1 metre away from the sides of the lorries. We want you to have fun on the day but we need to keep you safe. We would also like your help in trying to stop the throwing of coins, especially in Bridge Street/Rosemary Hill, by ensuring that someone from your float goes amongst the crowds on the banks of the Abbey Fields as this will, hopefully, stop the throwing of coins from this point.
