Europe trip 2014 Meeting - There will be an important Europe Trip 2014 meeting on Monday, Nov. 25 at the Penticton Secondary Library at 7:00 pm. All travellers, and anyone interested in going, should attend.

Attention grade 12 students. A representative from the University of Calgary will be at Pen-Hi on Tuesday, November 26th from 8:45-10:00am in the counseling area. If you plan on attending, please sign up on the list on Mrs. Grant’s door in the counseling area. Thanks, Mrs. Grant.

Attention grade 12 students interested in attending the presentations for the University of Calgary (Nov. 26th), Dalhousie (Nov. 28th) and UBC (Nov. 28th). You must sign up to attend any of these four sessions. Sign-up sheets are now posted on Mrs. Grant’s door in the counseling office.

10,000 To-Night is being hosted by Princess Margaret Secondary this year on Wednesday, December 4th. If you want to be a part of this incredible evening, pick up the volunteer form from the main office! If you have a parent willing to drive students around an assigned route, there is a form for that too.

If you are considering attending Queen's University, please review the criteria for their many major admission awards. If you meet all of the award criteria AND wish to be considered for school nomination for the Queen's Chancellor's Scholarship, complete PAGES 4, 5, 6 & 7 of the application and hand them into Mrs. Glibbery by Nov. 21. The Horatio Alger Jim Pattison BC Scholarship Program

DEADLINE TO APPLY: DEC. 1 2013

Any student who meets the following criteria is encouraged to apply:

• Enrollment in their final year of high school, taking classes during spring 2014, progressing normally toward graduation in the spring/summer 2014, with plans to enter a post-secondary institution in Sept. 2014

• A strong commitment to pursuing and completing a degree at an accredited public or private post-secondary institution in Canada;

• Critical financial need ($50,000 or less net income per family is preferred; if higher, an explanation must be provided);

• Involvement in co-curricular and community activities;

• A minimum grade percentage of 65

• Attend a high school and live in British Columbia; and

• Canadian citizenship.

TD Canada Trust Scholarship. DEADLINE: Dec. 6, 2013. They are interested in hearing from students who have demonstrated consistent and outstanding dedication to solve a community problem or make their community better as a whole. For example, you may be cleaning up the environment, promoting social justice, or fighting child poverty. They carefully review all applications, taking into consideration not only the applicants' contributions to their communities but also their personal circumstances and any special challenges they may have faced along the way. The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award recognizes humanitarian volunteer work. There is no set discipline students must study in order to receive the award, but they must maintain their academic, voluntary and career performance to a satisfactory level. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1

RE/MAX of Western Canada 2014 Quest for Excellence Bursary Program

The Quest for Excellence Program is a bursary program for grade 12 students in Western Canada. It was established by RE/MAX of Western Canada to recognize the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives. Each year, RE/MAX will award 16 bursaries of $1,000 each totaling $16,000 in Western Canada. DEADLINE: March 10, 2014
