A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Robert Leon Huffman Sr.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Robert Leon Huffman Sr., and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.
WHEREAS, Robert Leon Huffman Sr. was born on December 5, 1921, a native of Pike County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on December 2, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Robert Leon Huffman Sr. was the loving son of the late Ross and Lizzie Billiter Huffman; he was preceded in death by his loving first wife, Lou Verne Thompson Huffman, and he is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth Marie Huffman; he was the loving father of a son, Robert Leon Huffman Jr. of Bristol, Tennessee, a daughter, Sandra Jean Ramsey of Pikeville, and a stepdaughter, Debra Reynolds Martin of Bristol, Tennessee; he was the loving uncle of Joe Glen Jr. and Reba Boyd; and he was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Robert Leon Huffman Sr. was an esteemed member of the Pike County community, where he retired from the Kentucky Power Company after 46 years of dedicated service; he played an integral role in the 1988 formation of the Industrial Development and Economic Authority board, a job recruitment agency; and he was instrumental in helping Pike County recruit Kellogg's subsidiary Mountaintop Baking and telecommunications firm Sykes Enterprises; and
WHEREAS, Robert Leon Huffman Sr. was a devout member and deacon at Meta Baptist Church, and he was a member of Thomas C. Cecil Lodge # 375; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Robert Leon Huffman Sr. has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Robert Leon Huffman Sr., and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Robert Leon Huffman Sr.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Ruth Marie Huffman, 18 Thompson Branch, Pikeville, Kentucky 41501.
