-Dress and behave in an appropriate manner.

-Interact with co-workers and the sponsor in a polite and professional manner.

-Complete all assigned tasks to the best of his or her ability, and be pro-active about seeking new tasks and learning opportunities.

-Call in to his or her school advisor on the assigned day each week, and attend one night meeting.

-Write in his or her journal each day after work.

-Consult his or her advisor about problems that arise at the internship if he or she is unable to resolve them on his or her own.

The sponsor must:

Please note: Sponsors can accept no more than one A-School intern each year. If you have already agreed to sponsor one A-School student in January 2018, please do not sign a contract with another one.

-Provide a safe and age-appropriate work environment for the intern, and agree to abide by the Scarsdale Union Free School District’s Board of Education Policies and Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct can be found on the Scarsdale High School website under “student handbook.”

-Designate, as part of this contract, a list of specific tasks and activities that the intern will perform.

-Provide meaningful learning opportunities. While we understand that internships normally include routine, entry-level tasks consistent with the intern’s status as a beginner, he or she should have opportunities to challenge him or herself, to develop new skills, and to learn about how the sponsor’s organization operates.

-Notify the school promptly about issues with the intern’s attendance or performance.

-Send the school a written evaluation of the intern’s performance at the end of the internship.

I understand and agree to these responsibilities. ______Sponsor signature
