Year 9 / Maths Course Outline / Email:

In maths we will be covering the following areas:

·  Number

·  Algebra

·  Geometry

·  Measure

·  Handing data

·  Sets and Venn Diagrams

·  Problem solving

Required Supplies:

To be successful in Maths this year it is important to be prepared with the necessary supplies. Each pupil should have the following during each lesson:

-  Red, purple and black/blue pen

-  Pencils

-  Eraser

-  Ruler

-  Geometry set (compass and protractor)

-  Scientific calculator*

*Scientific calculators can be bought in the school shop. The Maths department recommends the use of the CASIO fx-85GT PLUS

Homework:

Homework is assigned two days a week and checked regularly to ensure completion. Each homework tasks is approximately 40 minutes of work. Myimaths provides pupils with immediate feedback. Appropriate sanctions will be given to pupils with incomplete homework/assignments.
