Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre LLP – Flower and Vegetable Show
It is now just over five weeks away before the Yarnton Nurseries Garden Show for Children is due to take place. (Wednesday 6TH July)
To enable us toorganise the event, we would really appreciate some information from all the schools that are participating in the Show.
In order for us to know how much room to allocate for the show we need to know the following;
- Are you going to enter the show, even if it is only in one ‘class category’ (listed 1 - 12)?
- If you are entering the show, can you tell me how many of the ‘classes listed 1 -12’ you will be entering, and which ones they will be, if possible? (see Rules and ‘Classes’)
- We are able to accept entries from midday Tuesday 5th July. - ALL entries must be in by 9.30am on Wednesday 6thJuly, - judging will commence at 10.00am. The Garden Centre will be open from 8.00am on the Wednesday in order for all entries to be processed and displayed.
- If Staff, and or Students are going to attend, can you please let me know how many of each will be in attendance from your school?
Each Entrymust be labelled with the School Name, class category entered,(1 – 12)and the age-group of the entrants.
Age-groups - Pre-School, Reception / Key Stage 1 / Key Stage 2

Entries will be on display (weather permitting!) until close of business on Sunday 10thJuly.
Please note ALL ENTRIES not collected by close of business Sunday 10thJuly will be disposed of.

- 1 Entry per ‘class category’ (see below), per School, - School is to judge their own best entry and bring that to the show (meaning they can have their own little ‘Gardening Show’)
- Date for the Show is Wednesday 6th July 2016
- ALL Entries to be in for judging by 9.30am, on Wednesday 6thJuly, - judging will commence at 10.am
- The judges’ decision is final.
Each Entry must be labelled with the School Name, class category (number 1 -12 ) and the Key Stage age of the entrants.

‘Class Categories’ for the Show:
CLASS 1 A basket of School-grown vegetables (ideally using seed from the kit)
CLASS 2A Pair of Cress Heads
CLASS 3An animal using fruit or vegetables
CLASS 4A collection of mixed herbs, in a mug
CLASS 5Hanging Basket (veg/flower/salad)(ideally using seed from the kit)
CLASS 6A mini-beast made from recycled materials
CLASS 7 Half a bucket of ‘School-made’ Compost
CLASS 8Arrangement of flowers in a recyclable container(ideal using seed from thekit)
CLASS 9Face on a plate made from vegetables, fruit, flowers, seeds
CLASS 10An assortment School grown salad items or vegetables
CLASS 11Make Something Edible from Fruit / Vegetables from your School Garden
CLASS 123 Decorated Cup Cakes
