Arrival and Dismissal

Times for arrival and dismissal are included in the section “Daily Schedule.”

Before school, cars may drive through the driveway in front of the parish hall to drop off children. However, because of fire regulations, cars may not park in this area. For safety reasons, children may not be dropped off on Brentwood Avenue; neither may cars drive onto any grassy areas near the buildings to drop off or pick up children.

From 2:55—3:10 children may be picked up in front of the parish hall. When cars arrive for dismissal, they are asked to form a line around the parking lot. Children will be supervised as they get into the cars. Those picking up children must be listed on the Authorized Pick-Up list. Any students not picked up by 3:10 will go to After School Care and will be charged the corresponding fees for that service.

Children who walk home will be dismissed at 2:55 and are to leave the property immediately or as soon as the traffic in the parking lot has slowed down and it is safe to walk. Walkers are to follow the directions of the teachers who are supervising dismissal at the car line.

Children who ride the bus regularly will be dismissed according to the bus form filled out in the office by their parent/guardian. If a student does not ride the bus regularly, but needs to on a specific day, parents are required to call the office or send a note to the teacher.

All persons picking up children from After School Care (ASC) are asked to park in the driveway in front of school, enter the Parish Hall to sign their children out, and walk to the designated ASC area to pick up the students.

Cell Phones

Students may not keep cell phones with them during the school day or use them at any time from arrival at school until the time of leaving school property. If a student needs a cell phone after school due to walking home from school, entering a house where no one is home, or attending sport practices or games, he/she should bring the cell phone to the office upon arrival in the morning to park the cell phone in the off position for the day. The cell phone may be picked up by the student from the office at dismissal.

At no time during the day should a cell phone be in a student’s possession. A school official who sees a phone in a student’s belongings, or observes a student having a phone, talking on a phone or who hears a phone ringing will confiscate the phone. Phones will be kept in the office and will only be released to the parent of the student.
