Contest Info Sheet
The following are important contest points and Arizona updates. All contest rules may not be listed. Please consult the SkillsUSA Technical Standard for additional information.
Contest / Criminal JusticeSkill Performance / The contest will include activities that simulate situations encountered by criminal justice professionals.

Date/Location/Start Time / April 3; PCC West Hall; Contest begins at 8 AM
Attire / Contest requires a school/work uniform. Conference t-shirt okay.
Contestants may not wear any attire that shows school name
Resume / copy of resume onsite is required.

2015 SkillsUSA Criminal Justice Competition from Contest Chair
Listed below are the 2015 rules for the criminal justice competition:
1. Submit your one page resume online and provided two copies on the day of your interview.
2. Take the written test online prior to the deadline
3. Report to the competition desk with all your necessary equipment (Duty belt, hand cuffs, proper SkillsUSA clothing, pen and note pad. No weapons of any kind are needed, nor will they be allowed in the competition area). School name may not be showing on clothing.
4. All competitors will need to bring food and drinks with them to the competition. After check in competitors will remain in the waiting area and will not be allowed to leave.
5. No cell phones are allowed in the waiting area. For emergencies the following contact number will be used (520)866-5009. A detailed message should be left and emergency calls will be responded to immediately.
6. No Advisor/Director/Instructor contact is allowed. Once a competitor has completed all of the events, they will be released from the waiting area and can then communicate with their Advisor/Director/Instructor.
7. All scoring is based on a specific number of points for each area. Each event has a score value based off a rubric. No subjective scoring will occur. The student must meet the rubric requirements.
8. Events:
a. Resume 50 Points
b. Written Test 100 Points (written from Arizona state standards)
c. Oral Board/Interview 125 Points
d. Scenario 1 50 Points
e. Scenario 2 50 Points
f. Scenario 3 50 Points
Total Points Possible: 425
For the scenarios contestants should be familiar with domestic violence, criminal trespassing, use of force, traffic and drug related statutes
First, second and third place medals will be awarded to the competitors with the most points overall. Every advisor will be provided each competitors score card at the conclusion of the competition.
