RequestingOrgValues
Purpose
Use this procedure to request one of thefollowingactionsforanorgvalue:
•Add(anewvalue)
•Modify (an existing value)
•Disable (anexisting value)
•Re-enable(adisabledvalue)
Prerequisites
•YouhavebeenassignedaCSMAresponsibility
(e.g. HRVD^CSMA^DIV^AllNoGFENSL^Req).
•You are requesting valuesallowed by this responsibility.

Procedure
1.Select yourCSMAresponsibility to open the CSMA application.
The system will open yourCSMANavigatorScreen.

2.If you have not already createda TopTenList, you may want to takea moment to doso.
TheTopTenListis anOracle option that some people find useful.You do nothave to createaTopTenList;youcanalways opentheformsandscreensbydouble-clicking thelinksintheleft-handwindow.
3.To createaTopTenList, clicktoopenallthechoicesavailable.
4.Clickontheformorscreentypeyouwanttoaddtoyour TopTenList.

5.Clickto move yourselection to the TopTenList. Repeat asrequired to complete your list.
Oracle will number each transaction type consecutively as you add it to your list.
Naming conventions will also apply; youwill notice that item names will changeas you move them from the left-hand box to the right-hand TopTenList(e.g., if youselect “RequestEntry”firstitwillchangeto“1.CreateNewRequest”).
6.Double-clickRequestEntry(or 1. CreateNewRequest) toopenanewrequest.
CSMA–CreateNewRequest
The following steps illustrate an ADD fora child-level org value. If you select MODIFY orRE-ENABLE,youwillencounterCSMAscreensrequestingthesameinformation. Complete them as you would if addinga value. Forinformation on DISABLE, refer to the“DisablingChartValuesinCSMA”quickreference.
7.Complete the following fields [the R/O/Ccolumnwill indicate whether the fieldisrequired(R),
optional(O),or conditionallyavailable(C)]:
Alwaysuse the Tabkey to move from field to field in CSMA.
Field Name / R/O/C / EnterRequest Type / R / The initial letter of your request type (e.g., “A” for ADD), or selectfromthedrop-downmenu.
Note: The following options are available: ADD, MODIFY, DISABLE, and RE-ENABLE.
Segment Type / R / The initial letter of thesegment type (e.g., “O” for ORG), or selectfromthedrop-downmenu.
Note: The following options are available: ORG, FUND, ACTIVITY, SUBACTIVITY, and ROOT. OBJECT values can
only be requested by Applications Administration.
Value / R / The 5-digit org value that is being requested.
WhenCSMAopensaconditionalfield(C)forinput,itmayappearas requiredor optionaldependingonthesegmentandvalueyouarerequesting.Requiredfieldswill appearyellow;optionalfieldswillappearwhite,
8.Select theType of Value.
Oncea valuehas been set up in CSMA asa particular type, it cannot be alteredlater.
Forexample,avaluecannotbesetupas B-Budget-onlyChildandthenchangedto allowpostingatalaterdate.

CSMA will validate the value you are requesting at this point. If valid, CSMA will proceedwithyourrequest bydisplayingthescreensnecessarytocompleteit.If invalid, you will receive an error message requesting that you entera valid value. ValidationinCSMAisanongoingprocessfrom thispoint forwarduntil your request is approved.
CSMAconductstwospecialvalidationsonADDORGchildrequests:1.)thevalue mustbecoveredbyanactiveorg-fundandorg-activitycrossvalidationrule.2.)the value must fall in the rangeof at least oneactivesuperparentorgvalue.Pleasecheck tomakesure the ADDORGchild value youarerequestingpassesthesevalidations. For org values that will beassociatedwithnewparents, you must first submit the parent values and wait forApps Admintoapproveandloadtheparentsbefore submittingchildrequests associatedwiththoseparents.

Dependingon the value you arerequesting, CSMAmay provideadditional required and/oroptionalfieldsandscreens.Requiredfields areyellow; optional fieldsare white, andgrayfields arelocked. In the CSMAManage/ViewRequests, locked mauve fieldsshow thechangesyouhavepreviouslyentered.
Field Name / R/O/C / EnterDescription / R / Theorgdescription.Thetubprefixandacaratareprovided by the system. Follow any additionalnaming conventions that may be used by your tub.
Note: Theorgdescriptionshouldbewritteninmixedcase and may not exceed 50 characters. Donot use these characters: !, #, %, _,*, ?, , \.
