Signing In: Just a reminder, be sure you sign-in before the start of every class. Also please make sure both your monthly class fees and annual JCCC Membership are paid on time and kept up to date.

Saturday, November 2nd: Although the JCCC will be hosting its annual Road to Asia Festival, we will still have our regular class from 9:00-11:30 am. After class you may want to stay and check out the festival which opens at noon. Also stay to watch our Dojo Exchange at 2:00 pm.

Dojo Exchange: Our first dojo exchange this year will be on Saturday, November 2nd as part of the JCCC’s Road to Asia Festival. The purpose of this program is to give judoka the opportunity to develop their judo skills in a competitive environment. There will be 6 of these events this year and will be used for grading purposes. Although only students 7-18 years old (white-green belt) are allowed to participate in the exchange, adult and advanced students are encouraged to volunteer and assist with the exchange. The full dojo exchange calendar is posted on our Bulletin Board.

Flu Season: Just a reminder that if you’re not feeling or have the flu to stay home and not come to practice. Due to the close contact nature of judo, it is very easy to spread germs. Therefore it is very easy to pass the flu onto other club members. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in keeping our club healthy.

Christmas Tournament/Luncheon: Every December before Christmas our Club has a club tournamnent followed by a delicious pot-luck luncheon. Although it is only November, it is still time to let everyone know that this year's annual Christmas club tournament and luncheon will be on Saturday December 14, 2013. From 9:00-11:30 am. we will have our Club tournament followed by a pot-luck luncheon. More details will be in December’s newsletter. The December’s newsletter will have our class schedule during the Christmas holidays.

Tournament of Champions: On Saturday, October 26th, our students participated in the Tournament of Champions in North York. Eleven club members participated in this tournament.

1st Place: Shujon, Emily, Daniel

2nd Place: Emily, Christopher, Nick, Diana, Jerome, Rayleigh

3rd Place: Daichi, Craig

Also participating was Nicolaas. For Chistopher, Daichi,

and Rayleigh this was their first Judo Ontario tournament.

Used Judogis: If you have outgrown your judogi or have any unneeded judogis, then please donate them to our second hand judogi program. If you need a bigger judogi, check with me after class to see if we have a used judogi in stock. Our second hand judogi program is intended to help out those families whose children out-grow their judogis. A used judogi is much cheaper than a new judogi. This program works if people hand in their old judogis to the Club. Also you can donate any unneeded belts, white or coloured, to the Club.

Zoris: We also have a supply of zoris (slippers) in adult sizes. All students should wear zoris (slippers) whenever they are not on the mat, before and after class and during breaks. They are available for the low, low price of $5. If you wish to buy your zoris, please see me after any class.

Newsletter via e-mail: Just a reminder if you have an e-mail account, you can receive our newsletter electronically. Just drop me an e-mail and I will make sure you get the newsletter every month.

If you have any questions regarding the information in this newsletter or need to contact any of the instructors, please contact me at our e-mail address .
