2017 Member Award Program
Each year the New York State and National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NYSACCE4-HE and NAE4-HA) offer a wide variety of award opportunities to recognize your outstanding contributions to the 4-H Youth Development profession.
Please take some time to review all the great award and recognition opportunities our association offers. We hope that you will take the opportunity to complete the necessary paperwork and submit your applications for consideration on the state level. We know that there is great work being done by each of you!
There are three types of awards available to our members:
· Communicator Awards
· Service Awards
· Specialty Awards
For 2017 the process of submitting applications/packets for these awards has changed. The process is highlighted below with links. Full descriptions and directions can be found on the NYSACCE4-HE website http://4hstaff.cce.cornell.edu/nysacce4-he/library/awards-and-recognition-0
Communicator Awards:
ü Communicator award categories can be found at http://4hstaff.cce.cornell.edu/nysacce4-he/library/marketing-information-0 If you are a state-member only, you may still apply - your application will be considered with other state-only members. The same material requirement and category rubric will be applied for review.
ü Communicator award submission is a 2 step process this year:
1. Step 1 – Submit all materials electronically by e-mailing documents to: (include your abstract and all supporting documentation required for the category in which you are applying). Please format all filenames so that they include details like Category and the Applicant name.
- For ex. an educational package application might be called: Educational Package - Celeste Carmichael
2. Step 2 – Mail one hard copy of your entire application to Celeste Carmichael, 350 Roberts Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853. (The hard copy is used by the committee for judging the award and also for display at the NYSACCE4-HE Conference in October)
All steps for submitting a communicator award must be completed (or postmarked) by February 1, 2017.
Service Awards:
ü Service Awards: MSA, DSA, ASA
1. Peer nomination due to Member Recognition Chair Mary Fairley, , by February 1, 2017 (this is the form in the packet, which is on the NYSACCE4-HE website, requiring a 50 word nomination).
2. If selected, the packet will be due electronically and in hard copy by March 1, 2017.
ü Service Awards: 4-H Innovative Award, Special Service, Award of Merit (State Only Awards)
1. Peer nomination due to Member Recognition Chair Mary Fairley, , by February 1, 2017 (this is the form in the packet, which is on the NYSACCE4-HE website, requiring a 50 word nomination).
2. If selected, packet due electronically and in hard copy by March 1, 2017.
Specialty Awards
ü Self-nomination of award for NAE4-HA members. List of awards and required documentation can be found at http://www.nae4ha.com/awards
ü Submission of packet:
1. One copy of the packet must be placed in the designated New York dropbox by March 1, 2017.
2. At this time NYS Specialty Award packets will not be placed in the NAE4-HA award system.
