Carol;
Congratulations on your exciting journey on owning your own business.
Some things that may be helpful in the general approach toward entrepreneurship are below. Not all will apply to you, but some things to consider.
Things to consider:
1.Develop your Vision/Mission/Values/ statement(s) (attachmentshould help you).
2.Develop your 30 second commercial to share with people when they ask about you/your business. You need to be able to clearly articulate what it is that you do (and what your business does).
3.If you have a family, Complete a family support document to help assess your family's support in this important decision. Is your family on board? Do they share the passion you do for this new venture?
4.Make an appointment with one person you can sit with to discuss your entrepreneurial venture. It can be someone from SCORE, a friend, a business associate, etc.
One of the thingswe discussed briefly wasgrant money or low interest loan money. The following attachments might help you (and the first link is a great example from Pennsylvania - look at your own states website for information pertaining to minority/women owned businesses).Be sure to check out local resources for grants. There are many localorganizations that administer grant monies thatonly you might be able to track down, but money IS out there!!

As we discussed in this week's session, putting together a solid business plan is critical, not only for possible funding, but to help keep your business idea on track.
