TOP GLOBAL AWARD GOES TO SANDALS FOUNDATION
The Sandals Foundation receives prestigious World Travel Market Global Award

MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA (November 7, 2011) – The Sandals Foundation secured a World Travel Market Global Award in recognition of the charitable work it undertakes as the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International (SRI), the parent company of Sandals, Beaches and Grand Pineapple Beach resorts.

Wayne Cummings, Director of Business Processes and Administration of SRI, was on hand to collect the prestigious award, which was jointly presented by Editor-in-Chief of Travel Weekly USA, Arnie Weissmann, and Fiona Jeffery, Reed Travel Exhibitions Chairman World Travel Market.

“The Sandals Foundation is an impressive medium, allowing the company to give back to the communities that have supported it,” Jeffery noted.

The Sandals Foundation, which was established three years ago, promotes education, community development and environmental sustainability in Jamaica, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, St. Lucia and Antigua.

Adam Stewart, President of the Sandals Foundation, described the recognition by World Travel Market as humbling, and a great testament to not just the work of Sandals Resorts team members, but also that of travel partners who play a role in making a difference.

“By its very nature, the work of The Sandals Foundation is never complete but an award such as this drives on to greater and greater heights, and is a tremendous honor,” Stewart said.
