Hello! I hope this letter finds you well. We use this newsletter as an opportunity to let our network know what we’ve been up to recently.
McConnell HRC is a boutique HR management consulting firm with offices in Ottawa and New York. We specialize in providing Human Resources, Compensation and Organization Design advisory services to NGO’s, associations, agencies and non-profits. The following is a list of recent projects.
HR Strategy / HR Management
Results: We streamlined and improved HR service delivery
§ Delivered ongoing ‘in-sourced’ HR management services to the Canadian Pharmacists Association, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK), the Canada Green Building Council, and the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada.

§ Conducted an HR Policies and Procedures review for the Canadian Nurses Association.
§ Provided HR Transition Advisory Services to the First Nations Statistical Institute.
§ Developed a Performance Management program for the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.
§ Prepared an HR Policy Manual for the Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada.
§ Conducted an HR Diagnostic and Succession Planning Assessment for the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services.

Compensation
Results: We improved the design and delivery of Compensation programs
· Conducted Compensation Reviews and Salary Surveys and prepared strategic Compensation Policies for: Genome Canada, the Canadian Cooperative Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society.
· Conducted Executive Compensation Reviews for the National Dental Examining Board and the Canadian Automobile Association.

· Provided ongoing Job Evaluation Services to the Canadian Medical Protective Association and United Way Centraide Ottawa.
Organization Design
Results: We successfully facilitated organizational renewals for clients
· Completed Organizational Analysis and Design projects for Accreditation Canada and BioTalent Canada.
· Conducted Organizational Diagnostic Assessments for The Acumen Fund and the Child Mind Institute in Manhattan.
· Undertook a global Organization Design, Workforce Planning and Transition Management project for EngenderHealth Inc., a large transnational NGO based in Manhattan.
Other News
§ Kathy Bedard continues in her role as the President of the HR Professionals Association – Ottawa Chapter.
§ Tim McConnell’s book, The NPO Dilemma; HR and Organizational Challenges in Non-Profit Organizations was published in New York in March 2012.
§ Tim is scheduled to conduct a National Webinar on Advanced Compensation Planning for CCH Canada on September 27, 2011.
§ Tim will also be a featured speaker on HR Challenges at the Non-Profit HR Conference in Washington DC in October 2012 and the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) national conference in Ottawa in November 2012.
§ We welcome Melissa Lanigan, HR Analyst and Carolyn Perkins, Senior HR Consultant to our team.
