Job Purpose: / To ensure data is collected, managed, collated, analysed and distributed to support the effective running of the school and the raising of standards.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. / Keep the SIMS pupil database up to date.
2. / Oversee the attendance data.
3. / Oversee the collected, collation and distribution of assessment data both internally and between our feeder schools.
4. / Collect and collate data required for LEA, DfE, QCA and other external agencies.
5. / Analyse and interpret data (DfE, LEA and internal) using databases to produce reports and recommendations for action.
6. / Oversee the collection, collation and basic manipulation of a wide range of information, e.g. monitoring statistics etc, including the maintenance of specific databases.
7. / Contribute to the development of systems and procedures within departments, e.g. information systems, monitoring procedures.
8. / Support and train colleagues in the interpretation of data, i.e. at work group meetings etc.
9. / May undertake presentation, including the design and development of material.
10 / Monitor and analyse management information and procedures including information on meeting targets, performance indicators and Quality Assurance.
11 / Work alongside the Business Manager and Curriculum Leaders to create and maintain the SIMS inventory for the School.
12 / Undertake SIMS training as agreed appropriate.
13 / Become familiar with SIMS Nova Timetable and integrate it into the overall management process.
14 / Carry out other duties as may be reasonably required by the Head.
SPECIAL FACTORS:
Subject to the duration of the need, the special conditions given below apply :
(a) The nature of the work may involve the postholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours.
(b) The postholder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service.
(c) Expenses will be paid in accordance with the Local Conditions of Service.
(d) This post is subject to a check being carried out at an Enhanced level by the Criminal Records Bureau regarding any previous criminal record.
