Hello!I am so glad to be your child’s teacher this year. This summer was filled with adventures for me. I visited family, camped at the beach, traveled to lacrosse tournaments with my daughter and read a lot of new books. I’m inspired with new ideas to make our year terrific. Over the next few weeks we’ll be focusing on building friendships, class rules and routines to help make our days run smoothly and happy.
Supplies
There is a list of suggested supplies on our school website’s main page. (The most important is the 5 subject notebook.) Please let me know if any of thisis difficult to obtain and I’ll help you out.
Homework
Tonight your child should have brought home their “Take Home Folder” with mail from school and the first nightly homework(HW Planning Schedule). There will be homework M-Th. I write the homework on our class HW board and students have time to copy it into their monthly schedule/planner. This monthly planner will stay in your child’s Take Home Folder. Please support your child in cleaning out this folder each night.Empty out the“Stay at Home”side, complete anything in the “To Do” side, thenreturnitems to school in the “To Do” side. There are a number of ways you can contact me. The best is by email. I check my school email
before the school day begins and again at the end of the day. Also, sending a note to class with your chiId is super helpful. Please call the main office: (845) 256-4300if you need to reach me for anything urgent during the school day.
Contact List
I would like to create a class contact list to hand out to all families soon that includes:
1. student and parent/guardian names
2. email
3. phone #
If you’d like to be on this list please send me this information by this Friday, 9/5. You can email me this info or send in a note.
