PURPOSE OF JOB
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organisedindividual to support the work of the busy Communications Department of Leeds Grand Theatre Opera House Ltd. With the ability to hit the ground running and manage multiple projects you will assist the Digital Communications Manager, PR Manager and Head of Marketing(Leeds Grand Theatre) in the delivery of creative campaigns to promote a varied programme of productions at Leeds Grand Theatre and City Varieties Music Hall.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital Marketing (Leeds Grand Theatre & City Varieties Music Hall)
- To assist the Digital Marketing Manager in writing, creating and distributing e-campaigns
- To assist the Digital Marketing Manager in creating and planning and managing social media campaigns
- Update website including resizing images and editing copy as required
PR (Leeds Grand Theatre & City Varieties Music Hall)
- To assist the PR Manager in writing press releases, planning media events, liaising with journalists and the day to day running of the busy press office
- Attend press nights and events as required (this will include some evening and weekend work)
Marketing (Leeds Grand Theatre)
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns as directed by the Head of Marketing liaising with external media buyers and media providers as required
- Oversee the external distribution of printed materials and liaise with distribution agents as required
- Coordinate artwork and copy for advertising, brochures and website ensuring artwork is approved and deadlines are met
- Following training on the Box Office system (Audience View) build, extract and circulate reports as required and log figures
- Any other duties commensurate with the post
PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL
- One year’s relevant experience in a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational, administrative and planning skills, including an ability to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail withstrong proofreading skills
- Excellent computer skills including a proven ability to work with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- Good interpersonal skills – able to work as part of a team as well as being able to communicate with a wide variety of people
- Able to work on own initiative and make decisions as and when required
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of the cultural sector in Leeds
- Knowledge of a computerised box office
- Previous experience of working in a theatre / arts organisation
Please note, as this role includes the management of print distribution, some lifting and carrying is required (manual handling training will be provided if required).
Salary: £18,078 pro rata (including enhanced pension scheme)
Hours: 37.5 hours over 5 days + occasional evenings and weekends
Holidays: 20 days (Pro Rata) + Public Holidays
