GIS to obtain project-related information for conducting spatial analyses and preparing graphics

SIN 899-7 Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

GIS project - GIS is a tool that can have many applications such as emergency management, hydraulics and hydrology, transportation route logistics, etc. This tool is a concept of objects in a spatial realm with databases attached to give more meaning. In this instance there are many different software applications that can provide nearly the same services and we are familiar with each. GIS can be provided real-time over the web, mobile in the field and at the traditional workstation. GIS systems can be linked with SQL or Oracle databases to provide for processing vast quantities of data that will inform the individual user who may just have a few acres of wetland to monitor.

As a tool, GIS can have several different approaches to a problem. AZTEC likes to keep an open mind, review the problem, come up with a number of solutions that perhaps the client has not discovered, and provide stages of implementation for large organizations with a solution that may include hardware and software upgrades and training to meet budgeting restraints across multiple years. We have at our fingertips a wealth of options in the Information Technology field to draw upon. In an effort to build upon any endeavors that are implemented, we always try to implement solutions that are scalable and will be seamless with other projects. Any future upgrades should be a painless as possible and documentation provided with any coding for easy reference and modification as needed.
