Mayor Roderick called the Regular Meeting of August 19, 2008 to order at 7:00 pm.

M – 20 Motion by Trustee Clark, seconded by Trustee Bossie, to accept the minutes of June 17, and July 15, 2008. Carried

Code Enforcement Report:

Bill Rusby stated that a Stop Work Order was issued for 15 West Ave. until Mr. Lacy finishes his paper work to continue.

Mr. Paul Ritter of 92 West Ave. will have until August 23, 2008 to comply with his violations or an appearance ticket will be issued, letter to be sent stating so.

M – 21 Motion by Trustee Smith, seconded by Trustee Clark, to issue an appearance ticket on September 24, 2008 if Mr. Ritter has not complied.

DPW Report:

Bob Mauro reported the work by Kilbury Feed Service on Hurlbut Street

has been completed.

The work in the Lime Creek has been completed. Mayor Roderick is to call

the county to see if we can get help with fuel cost for the project.

Attorney Vogel is to write up a Local Law for a stop sign needed at the

intersection of North Ridge Drive and Clover Terrace.

Board OK’s DPW to have a service tech out of Buffalo to service the UV at the

water plant.

DPW should attend day classes for RPZ’s, Jeff Bossie will give Bob the

information to attend.

All water services on the lower end of Oak Hill need to be replaced due to lead

lines.

August 19, 2008 Board Meeting Continued

Library report:

88 people visited the Book Center for the month of July. Book center would like to ask the school to advertise the new hours for the center. Board oks

Book Center hours are: Closed on Sunday and Monday, 10 am to 2 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 am to 7 pm on Thursday, 10 am to 2 pm on Friday, and 9 am to 12 pm on Saturday.

There was no Treasurer report at this time.

Dog Control Officer:

There were 2 missing dogs and they were found and returned home. There were reports of barking dogs at the Oaks.

Old Business:

Ownership of the Cemetery is tabled to the September 16th meeting.

New Business:

There was one bid for the Copier and that was Masoud Torkaman (Soudi) for $300.00.

M – 22 Motion by Trustee Clark, seconded by Trustee Bossie, to accept the bid of $300.00. Carried

M – 23 Motion by Trustee Bossie, seconded by Trustee Smith, to adopt a local law pertaining to a curfew for the Village. Attorney Vogel will set this up and report to the Board at the September 16th meeting. Carried

M – 24 Motion by Trustee Clark, seconded by Trustee Smith, to accept the offer from Larry Jones to add a link for the Village of Arkport to his web site. Carried

M – 25 Motion by Trustee Hedges, seconded by Trustee Bossie, to accept the appointment of Mary Smith as the Village Grant Writer. There will be a $500.00 retainer 50% from Water Fund, 50% from General Fund.

The Village Board accepted Mr. Moses Garippa’s resignation as Village Treasurer as of August 28, 2008.

M – 26 Motion by Trustee Hedges, seconded by Trustee Smith, to accept the

appointment of Liana Gallant as Village Treasurer. All voted Aye Carried, Liana will start September 2, 2008

Playground Grant:

Trustee Clark stated he was waiting for the College in Alfred to open the make a plan for the playground.

M – 27 Motion by Trustee Smith, seconded by Trustee Bossie, authorizing

Treasurer Grippa to pay the audited bill presented to the board. Carried

M – 28 Motion by Trustee Bossie, seconded by Trustee Smith, to adjourn the Regular Meeting of August 19, 2008 at 9:10 pm. Carried
