Course Description: Students will learn about the purpose of art and produce artwork in two and three dimensional forms. Students will become familiar with drawing tools and techniques, art history, color theory, painting, collage, fiber arts, and ceramics.

Expectations:
- Be in class on time and ready to participate
- Kindness is a priority. Respect toward self, others, and art materials.
- Listen and follow directions the first time they are given.
- Meet all deadlines for projects. All work missed during an absence must be made up. The student is responsible for making arrangements with the teacher to finish the work.
- No gum or food is not allowed.
Consequences:
●Warning (verbal or nonverbal)
●Complete a Behaviour Think Sheet (may also move seats)
●Possible Coach/Team Conference
●Parent or guardian contact
●Office referral
***Horseplay and throwing anything in the art room receives no warnings.
Grading Policy:
Grades are calculated by averaging the following weighted categories:
●Participation (procedures, use of class time, discussion)
●Art sketchbook/visual journal (graded weekly)
●Problem Solving (creativity, critical thinking, reasoning)
●Class assignments (hands on projects, daily work)
