Creative Services – Summer Student
The Strategic Communications team is presently seeking 1 (one) summer student to assist in the Corporate Communications Office for a full-time (35 hours per week) position from April to August 2017. Daily hours 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with a one-hour lunch. The hourly wage is set at $13.02.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager, Creative Services, this position will provide administrative and project support to the StrategicCommunications team. We’re looking for a creative mind who’s passionate about visual communication. You're looking to demonstrate your creativity, build on your skills under supportive art direction and looking for opportunities to work with a diverse group of team members, across a variety of different medias.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Collaboratively working with the multiple teams while learning how to develop exciting graphics for print publication, website design, digital animation and special events.
- supporting production by performing preflight checks, resizes, file prep for web.
- Assisting in the creation of marketing materials
- Assisting in the creation of promotional videos
- Gathering data and information for the creative services team
- Concept, design and produce Social Media graphics/assets
- Other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Applicant must have been in full time secondary or post-secondary studies in the previous year and must be returning to full-time studies in the fall.
- Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Professional and responsible with sensitive and confidential issues.
- Superior verbal/written skills, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency withDesign Software.
