JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Party Host (Casual) / BUSINESS UNIT: Leisure
POST NO: / REPORTS TO: Buzz Supervisor
MAIN PURPOSE
1.  To ensure that the party area is a safe environment and that all Health & Safety guidelines are followed.
2.  To ensure that birthday parties meet the expectations of the birthday child and their guests
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
To meet and greet party customers at the meeting point and explain party procedures.
To ensure that party registers are completed.
To ensure that all guests are safe and have a fun time.
To lead parties and entertain the children in Buzz Zone parties.
To possibly if appropriately qualified organise and coach sports and activity parties and ensure that they are appropriate for the party guests.
To ensure bookings adhere to Mytime Active regulations.
To ensure that all party equipment is set up safely in advance of the party and to assist with the setting out and storing of equipment.
Liaising with catering staff and ensuring that the food orders are correct and the food is distributed to party participants.
To ensure that the facilities and party rooms are left clean and tidy after use and ready for the next party.
To report all accidents and incidents to the Duty Manager.
To follow the emergency evacuation procedures and ensure the safety of the party guests.
To follow lost property procedure.
To be of smart and presentable appearance in the correct uniform.
Be familiar with Child Protection guidelines.
Attend regular training sessions and staff meetings and keep informed of centre activities, promotions etc.
To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post’s level of responsibility.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Essential:
Be committed to excellent customer service.
Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Well-developed verbal and communication skills in order to ensure effective communication with a wide range of individuals.
Demonstrate good knowledge of sporting skills and children’s activities.
Proven planning and organisational skills.
Reliable and enthusiastic.
Willingness to undertake any relevant training.
EXPERIENCE
Experience of working with children under the age of 12
Experience of working with groups of up to 20 children.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
A – C in GCSE Mathematics & English
Desirable:
GCSE in Physical Education working towards A Level P.E.
Level 1 sports coaching qualification
Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership
First Aid qualification
CONDITIONS:
Satisfactory health clearance.
Satisfactory enhanced DBS check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
Satisfactory references.
