Lisa Taubman Scholarship ($2000)

This scholarship honors Lisa Taubman, who taught in the Psychology Department at OSU from 1955 until her retirement in 1986. She was active in departmental and university affairs. She developed and taught the first Psychology of Women classes at OSU. Lisa Taubman was student-oriented and her “open door” policy was very much appreciated by her students.

Criteria:

·  Students must be enrolled as full-time undergraduates with a College of Liberal Arts major

·  Must be a sophomore, junior or senior while receiving the scholarship

·  Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher

·  Preference will be given to female students from small Oregon towns (population under 10,000)

·  Financial need will be considered in the decision process

A complete application packet includes:

1.  College of Liberal Arts Scholarship Application.

2.  A two (2) page essay describing how your liberal arts education has affected your view of yourself in relation to the community in which you were raised and the community you plan to enter after graduation.

3.  A completed financial worksheet (included).

4.  Any additional information you consider pertinent to the award committee.

5.  ***One (1) letter of reference and completed reference form (included).

NOTE: No letter/reference from family members, please.

To be eligible for this award, students must be enrolled as full-time undergraduates majoring in the College of Liberal Arts, and entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year. They must be in good standing with the university and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and demonstrate financial need.

A complete reference includes this 2-page form AND a detailed letter.
