How to talk about Action Medical Research

1.Describing Action and how we make a difference

Here is a short and simple wayto describe the difference Action is trying to make and how we do this:

Action Medical Research isthe leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research.

To describe our mission:

Action Medical Research is a UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research.

They fund a broad range of cutting-edge medical research most likely to deliver real benefit to babies, children and young people. With the help of supporters, Action raises funds to make vital research possible.

They want to make a difference in premature birth, pregnancy complications and treating sick and vulnerable babies, as well as in preventing infections and helping children affected by disabilities, disabling conditionsand rare diseases.

2. Why support Action?

Action Medical Research is a UK-wide charity funding vital research to help sick and disabled babies and children. They have been funding medical breakthroughs since they began in 1952 and almost everyonehas been touched in some way by our ground-breakingwork like the first polio vaccines in the UK, ultrasound in pregnancy and the rubella vaccine. The research Action had funded has helped save thousands of children’s lives and changed many more.

Every pound raised will support studies that could one day help children like baby Samuel born two months early weighing less than 4lbs, Iona, who at five was diagnosed with brain cancer andTom who has the fatal muscle-wasting condition Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

With your support we can fund life-changing research for some of the UK’s sickest babies and children.

3. Shopping list
