(See Other Side for Occupancy Report Worksheet)The California Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989, Assembly Bill 939, requires the City to divert 50% of waste generated from the landfills. Occupants generate a significant amount of material that can be recycled. In order to comply with AB939, the City requires Occupant to minimize materials being landfilled by at least 50% through implementation of waste reduction and recycling efforts.
Occupants shall prepare an Environmental Resources Management & Recycling OccupancyReport by completing the attached worksheet for materials generated during occupancy. The goal of the Occupancy Report shall be to identify the amount of materials being disposed and the amount being diverted through waste reduction and recycling efforts.
Occupant shall include the following information: material type recycled, reused, salvaged or disposed; quantities; management method; destination of material including the hauler name and facility location. The attached Environmental Resources Management & Recycling OccupancyReport worksheet or similar format shall be used. Additional pages may be added as needed.
The Report shall include legible copies of weigh tickets, receipts, or invoices for materials sent to disposal or reuse/recycling facilities. For other discarded or salvaged materials, Applicant must provide documentation, on letterhead, identifying where the materials were taken, type of materials, and tons or cubic yards disposed, recycled or reused, and identify the project generating the discarded materials. The Environmental Resources Management & Recycling Occupancy Report shall be submitted annually.
